FourSquare Checkins

Weddings – Week ending Sunday 10/14/207

I met with 3 couples this week regarding their upcoming ; Tina and Devon, Caley and James and Jennifer and Christopher. Caley called me on Saturday and booked me for her and James’ ceremony on June 7th at the San Diego Yacht Club.

I know I have shared with you how much I love to meet with couples as they are very excited about their special day. Each couple has new eyes and wish to share with me the positive and negatives things about their planning. I share some ideas to help them overcome some obstacles and in a way, help them understand that what they think is a major problem is actually very simple to overcome. I keep special notes in order to help future couples. Not that I can control many of the issues they may have, but I hope to be able to someday.

Amber and Darren at the South Coast Winery in Temecula

Friday was my Scottish Ceremony at the South Coast Winery in Temecula with Amber and Darren (He is from a small town just north of Edinburgh Scotland). They and their families really enjoyed the attention to detail of their Scottish traditions and roots.

The Parson and the Piper! (Rev. Christopher and piper Forrest Cormany)

I worked with piper Forrest Cormany (he has a new website by the way…HERE) and as awlays…. a pleasure. Forrest is a real pro whjen it comes to piper’s as he is part of the grade one Los Angeles Scottish Pipe Band. Forrest shared with me that the band band just traveled to Glasgow to compete in the world pipe band championship and returned to America ranked 11th in the world, the highest placing of any American band in history!

On Saturday I married Catherine and Sean at the Park Manor Suites in San Diego (On the edge of Balboa Park). I don’t perform many ceremonies here but really wish I did… It’s a beautiful location with views of Mission Bay, Coronado and Balboa Park.

Catherine and Sean

What made this really special was 2 couples I had the pleasure of performing ceremonies for were there! It was like old home week. Carmen and Nicole were a couple I married at the Hotel Del on May 6th of 2006 and they shared with me the beautiful addition to their family (she slept most of the time) and Stacy and David who I married at the San Diego Hilton Mission Bay this past August 11, 2007. It was so good to see them all again! It was special.

DJ Jay Brannan

Had the pleasure to work with DJ Jay Brannan again. It’s been awhile and it’s always a pleasure to work with a real pro!

I Took Sunday off to drive to Ventura with my daughter Sarah to hang out at the “Seaside Scottish Games and ”. Aye, A scotsman’s paradise, a beautiful day, along the California Coast with the sounds of bagpipes……….We had a blast!

We also had a moment to catch old friend Brian (the one with his back turned when he sees my camera) and the band Highland Way Thats Paul on the fiddle and Heloise on Guitar. The band is one of my all time favorites. Heloise plays solo and has her own website HERE and Brian and Paul formed a Duo called the Clachan Boys that perform everywhere. If you get the chance catch one of their shows and let them no Rev. Christopher says Hello!
