I had a few weeks off and after such a busy summer and the fires, it felt good to relax. Funny, I felt like I worked harder…LOL
Friday - First, I stopped by and saw two of my favorite event people in the biz. Joy and Tracy at La Jolla Cove Suites. I stopped by to drop off business cards and postcards for my Scottish Weddings for brides and grooms (a shameless commercial plug) and we chatted about what a great summer it had been and all the fun couples that took advantage of the awesome specials they offer to my couples.
A beautiful elopement from Elope to La Jolla started the weekend with Teri and Daniel from San Antonio, Texas. We shared fun stories about their hometown and I shared with them how much fun I had the last time I was there. Great Tex/Mex food and drink at the RiverWalk!
One of the bonuses about this elopement was; I got to work with one of my favorite photographers. Richard from Richard Santini Photography and we have done literally hundreds of wedding together…..This has been a very weird year with weddings. There must be at least a hundred new online ordained wedding Officiants out there and another 200 hundred photographers all trying to get into the “business” so it makes working with the same professionals on a regular basis rather slim. Richard is one of my Top Picks. His photos are not only just photos, they are simply art! (So did I brag enough about him…..) Congrats to Richard and his bride Angie as they are expecting their first baby in January!

Saturday - A busy day. It started with a beautiful and romantic ceremony at a private estate in Fairbanks Ranch. Elba and Brian along with their daughter Kira shared in the magic with their family attending.

I then met with Jessie and Maria for an couple’s interview at Starbucks in La Jolla. They have some great ideas for their ceremony next year at the Historic El Cortez and I hope I can be of service as this sounds very romantic…..I love candle light ceremonies.
Another “Elope to La Jolla” special moment with Antron and Stephanie from Arizona finished the day. They brought the family and the babies and it was perfect. The sunset made for a spectacular ceremony.
Sunday - It started with a great meeting with Robert and Kary to discuss plans for their Falkner Winery Wedding in Tememcula next May. They are a wonderful couple from Phoenix and have some wonderful ideas for a small and intimate ceremony with close family and friends.
A very romantic wedding by candlelight and twinkle lights ended the day on the edge of San Diego Harbor at the Bail Hai. Royce and Tricia are a wonderful couple and it was a magical moment for all, yes even in the dark….(I even have a special clip on light that clips to my bible so I can read) What can make this even more magical? Just when the bride walked out, the heavy mist stopped. Sadly, I forgot my camera and I’m hoping that the photographers Shana and Don will send a quick photo to share for this post. By the way, Royce was a releif picture for our San Diego Padres last season and was then traded to the Atlanta Braves (Check out his online stats card). He is having a great time in the south……but still calls San Diego his home.
I worked with Mick, Elite British DJ again and he made everything come together, even in the rain and the limited timeline between two ceremonies at the same location…That’s the sign of a pro.

Am I too old to say “A special shoutout”? …………just in case I’m not; I need to mention a desert vendor here in San Diego that I met at this wedding. Heaven Sent Desserts is a growing company and with what I saw last night, he is going places. Lachlan Oliver is the owner and no surprise for me to read on his website that Beyoncé used his services at a party she held here in Amercia’s Finest… I REALLY HATE IT WHEN I FORGET MY CAMERA, the pictures alone would have said Awesome and made your mouth water!
All in all….What a great weekend!
