Many couples and friends have called to see how I was doing becuase my updates stopped and they were worried and for this I am honored. The Wedding posts ended simply becuase I have had a few weeks off. My home was fine and never realy in danger although we were in the Evacuation area. We left for 4 days to Palm desert becuase Lauren is due in 3 weeks and we knew the air was not good for her and the new baby coming. Lauren’s husband Jeff is out of the area and was safe. I asked my daughter Sarah to leave work and join us and the 5 of us set off.

Why did we escape to Palm Springs?…1) It keeps a 3 year old calm 2) tt was the closest hotel available and 2) the winds blowing west kept the skies clear.

 The following weeeknd after the fires calmed down yet skies still full of smoke, we took Eden to Disneyland in hopes of riding the new “Nemo” ride only to find that leaving at 6am to get there when the gates opened never really came together as the line was already 2.5 hours long…Can you imagine? After careful consideration of that long of a time of a wait with a pregnant woman and the fact she would have been completly uncomfortable in the sub…we opted to play in the rest of the park. Smart move…Keep the pregnant woman happy I always say…. Or is it, let the wookie win….same difference…LOL You can see that in the next post called Fire Escape.
